The Minnesota PIPELINE (Private Investment, Public Education, Labor and Industry Experience) Project is an innovative approach to address current and future workforce needs.  It serves as a catalyst for developing industry-based, employer-driven, dual-training programs throughout the state.  The program targets four high-growth industry sectors with limited experience with Minnesota's apprenticeship system:

*advanced manufacturing
*healthcare services
*information technology

By leveraging Minnesota's success with registered apprenticeship and focusing on the targeted industries, the PIPELINE Program is assisting employers to change the question from "How do we get workers with the skills we need? to "How do we give workers the skills we need?"  Dual training, like apprenticeship, is an earn-as-you-learn approach where the employer invests in its employee by building a training infrastructure, developing career pathways and investing in the employee's education.

Message from the President.......

2018 is a landmark year for NHRA as we are celebrating our 30th Anniversary as an organization. It is a great time to reflect on the past 30 years and look at the future for NHRA and the HR profession. I remember about 15 years ago SHRM was pushing HR leaders to be more strategic. When I look at where we are today, HR has become a critical part of any organization. The challenges that most employers are or will experience directly relate to human capital and HR has become one of the most strategic areas of any organization. Whether is it recruiting, retention, employee development or employee relations, HR is there to help lead the way. The ever increasing complex employment laws also makes our roles very challenging and extremely important for our organizations. Being a member of NHRA connects you to SHRM, one of the largest professional HR organizations in the world! As a SHRM affiliate chapter, NHRA brings you the latest trends in HR through our programming, networking and website resources. Check out our website for the latest events and like us on Facebook and LinkedIn to keep connected. If you are not a member, please consider joining a great organization and help jumpstart your career. Thank you to all NHRA members for your continued support. I am truly honored to be serving as NHRA President and am looking forward to another terrific 30 years!

In Volunteerism,
