Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) continues to knock at the front door of our businesses today. But what does this really mean and how do we gain and put our knowledge into action?

You'll hear from five great speakers throughout the day that will help us gain an understanding of what it means to be intentional with our DEI efforts in the workplace.

Teron Buford - Director of DEIB at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota will bring us through an interactive session on "Standing Up for Others"

Patricia Jesperson - Chief Curiosity Officer at Employee EXP will go in depth on "Leading DEI: Building the Foundation for Inclusive Excellence"

Elena Foshay - Director of the City of Duluth's Workforce Development Department will lead a conversational Q&A with Bree Maddox, providing local insight on DEI, resources available to employers and individuals in the community, and how we can enhance our DEI initiatives by working together.

Bree Maddox - DEI thought leader and HR Manager at Blue Horizon Energy in Minnetonka is here to chat with us about how she turned her expertise and advocacy for DEI has improved her company's culture through "Creating Space for Diverse Talent." Bree is also the DEI Director on the Minnesota SHRM State Council.

Ephraim Nikoi - Professor of Communication at UW-Superior and advocate for attracting and retaining BIPOC professionals in the Twin Ports, will draw on personal experiences and research for "Creating an Inclusive Environment for BIPOC and Business to Thrive Together."
